PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the loss and suffering wrought by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, affected all Americans; and

WHEREAS, one lesson that can be learned from the September 11th terrorist attacks is the important of understanding among all cultures, creeds, religions and races as Americans; and

WHEREAS, a culturally diverse group of citizens in Latah County will gather on Saturday, April 28, 2007 to celebrate unity, tolerance and understanding, and

WHEREAS, it is important to recognize events such as those planned in Latah County for the positive impact they can have on our State;

NOW, THEREFORE, I C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim

April 28, 2007, to be: WALKING ON COMMON GROUND DAY

in Idaho to promote meaningful connections among all people.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Idaho at the Capitol in Boise on this 14th day of March in the year of our Lord two thousand and seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred thirty-first and of the Statehood of Idaho the one hundred seventeenth.
