MOSCOW CommUNITY WALK PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, The City of Moscow believes that human beings everywhere are inherently good and decent, and

WHEREAS, We believe that peace and harmony among people of all faiths and persuasions is possible and that such relationships will help further understanding in our shared world, and

WHEREAS, As a community, we choose to embrace unity, peace and harmony and to promote a process of meaningful connections with each other in our community, and

WHEREAS, We choose to walk together on common ground in a symbolic pilgrimage of our common humanity in the spirit of peace and harmony, and

WHEREAS, We believe that each step of the CommUNITY walk enables us to experience and feel peace and harmony, so that we are enabled to act and behave in that spirit.

WHEREAS, We invite people from all walks of life—religions, nonreligious, all cultures, ethnicities and colors—to join us in this virtuous mission: the Moscow CommUNITY Walk Day.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nancy Chaney, Mayor of the City of Moscow, do hereby proclaim Saturday, April 26th, 2007, as Moscow CommUNITY Walk Day in the City of Moscow to promote meaningful connections among all in the community and beyond, and I urge all citizens to participate in this inspirational and momentous event.

WHEREAS, The City of Moscow celebrates the 2nd Annual Moscow CommUNITY Walk, and

WHEREAS, human beings everywhere are inherently good and decent, peace and harmony among people of all faiths and persuasions is possible, and that such relationships will help further understanding in our shared world, and

WHEREAS, in this community we strive to embrace unity and harmony to promote the peaceful existence we have fostered in our great city, and

WHEREAS, as people from all backgrounds walk together on common ground to symbolize our commitment to moving through this life together in unity, and

WHEREAS, We invite people from all backgrounds to join in this event: the Moscow CommUNITY Walk Day

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nancy Chaney, Mayor of the City of Moscow, do hereby proclaim Saturday, April 26th, 2008 as Moscow CommUNITY Walk Day in the City of Moscow to promote meaningful connections among all in the community and beyond, and I urge all citizens to participate in this inspirational and momentous event.
